An area of probable Late Bronze Age and later 'Celtic' field system survives as earthworks on aerial photographs. It comprises lengths of mainly parallel banks which measure up to 110m long and 8m wide and are circa 30m apart. The field system is probably a continuation of the Late Bronze Age field system to its south west (see NMR SU 17 SE 28). It extends for approximately 550m east/west by 730m north/south across the southern end of Barbury Hill and follows a northwest/southeast alignment, orientated to the contours of the slope. A Bronze Age bowl barrow lies at the western edge of the area (see NMR SU 17 NE 11).
