Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
Earthwork remains of a moat on the site of Old Scarisbrick Hall in the grounds of Scarisbrick Hall. It was documented during the early 13th century. Field investigations in 1957 found the moat, waterlogged, measuring 100 metres northwest by 50 metres northeast. Its maximum width and depth is at the southern end where it was approximately 18 metres wide and 3 metres deep.
