Walled formal gardens at Bradgate Park constructed circa 1500 by the first Earl of Dorset. It was known as the Tiltyard and was used as a practise ground for jousting . By the late 17th century it contained a walled lawn, divided with paths and raised walks. Many of the features are visible as earthwork.
