Notes

Revetted stone channel, interpreted as a mill overflow, found in excavation. Evidently disturbed within Medieval deposits were quantities of disarticulated human remains. The latter, although undated, may be associated with the Saxon burials found in Crane Street, and indicate the presence of a Saxon cemetery.
