The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
A possible Prehistoric or Roman settlement consisting of twelve hut circles lie in an exposed position just below the Princetown Railway track. Partially explored by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee they had previously been much pulled about by stone cutters. The larger buildings are from 5.2 to 7m; another hut has a 2m annexe and the smallest building lies just 8m from a major reave.
