Deer shelter constructed in 1767 on a small promontory in Auckland Park. It is a square walled enclosure surrounded by a higher arcaded outer wall. The deer sheltered in the passage, which was originally roofed, between inner and outer walls. In the centre of the east side there is a pinnacled tower with a first floor room overlooking the enclosure. There is an arched gateway in the centre of west side.
