The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
The scheduled monument includes a moated site at Church End, approximately 200m to the north east of St Peter's Church. The monument consists of a rectangular, medieval moated enclosure, with a hollow way approaching the site from the south and a supply channel entering the moat from the north. Also included in the scheduling is a sample of ridge and furrow earthworks which extend to the east and south east of the enclosure. The cultivation earthworks appear to have developed after the establishment of the moated site.
