Nearest Postcode

The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.

Situated on a low knoll on the south slope of Carperby Moor are five free-standing stone slabs, marking the surviving two thirds of the circumference of an elliptical stone circle. The stones are between 0.40 metres and 0.55 metres high and range in width from 0.65 metres to 0.90 metres. The most easterly of the stones is considerably smaller. The stone circle is partially obscured by thick heather, but has a diameter of 16.5 metres.
