Ruins of a bastle at Horneystead. The bastle is recorded in 1658 and was apparently inhabited up until the mid 19th century. Only the lower parts of the walls survive, standing up to 4.5 metres high. The first floor has collapsed into the basement, but traces of the original barrel vault can be identified in the rubble.
