The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
An enclosure of uncertain date. It is visible as earthworks on air photographs and has been surveyed. It was formerly described as a Roman temporary camp, but has been re-evaluated. The embanked square enclosure has no diagnostic Roman military characteristics. It is situated on a gently-inclined south-facing slope, in permanent rough pasture. The north-east corner of the monument is overlain by a comparatively recent walled plantation which has destroyed all evidence in this area.
