The earthwork and buried remains of a ringwork. The monument occupies a slight rise in the ground and includes an earthen bank which encloses a roughly oval area, measuring c50m NW-SE by c38m transversely, including the bank. There are breaks in the bank at the north and south ends, but these are likely to be from episodes of more recent damage rather than original entrance positions. The surrounding fields are regularly ploughed close to the edge of the mound, destroying any earthwork remains like those highlighted in the 1908 VCH edition. There is slight evidence of a ditch to the west and north-east. The VCH suggest a bailey enclosure formerly surviving to the west, while Shoesmisth more recently interpreted to possible enclosures on the east side of the mound. Scheduled.
