The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
I visited the Barrow today 18th Feb 16. A beautiful cold day. It was magnificent and the distant views superb.
I had my German pointer dog Skye with me. We climbed the hill and arrived at the top. After a minutes exploration Skye went off the barrow into the field and even trying to tempt her back with food would not get her to return. Something about it spooked her out. The small patch of daffodils on the top were just about to bloom. It is a magical place and I can understand why bronze age man found it inspiring.
