Four Bronze Age bowl barrows and a small cairn are situated on the south east facing slope of Thorncombe Hill on the sandstone ridge of the Quantock Hills. Three of the barrows lie close to the Holford-Bicknoller parish boundary, on the Holford side, and are situated along a NE-SW orientated ridge between 325m and 315m above OD. A further barrow is almost at the summit of a knoll, between 330m and 333m above OD, and is situated adjacent to the East Quantoxhead-Holford parish boundary, on the East Quantoxhead side. This barrow has been recorded separately (ST 13 NW 142).
