Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
Two Bronze Age bowl barrows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. Aldbourne 13, the larger of the two barrows can be seen as a low mound with a diameter of 20m. The outer ring ditch has undergone damage from ploughing and can only be seen as a cropmark. In the centre of the mound a cropmark of a pit is visible. The second barrow, Aldbourne 12, which stands to the immediate west of that above is no longer visible as an earthwork. This barrow is 17m in diameter. The barrows were both excavated by Greenwell in 1879. Both Aldbourne 12 and Aldbourne 13 contained adult cremations in circular cists together with bone and other artefacts.
