A mutilated earthwork mound allegedly the findspot of an urn and burnt bones prior to 1872 during road construction. Possibly a Romano-British barrow, but given its position more likely to be a medieval motte. The surviving fragment of mound is 2.8 metres high and had an original diameter of 18 metres. In 1974 it was seen to be incorporated into the kitchen garden of a farmhouse. The mound has been mapped from aerial photographs. Scheduled.
