Notes

A suggested bowl barrow close to the better known Dry Heathfield Barrow (SP 91 NW 17). The most recent schedule entry describes the mound as being 20 metres in diameter and 60 centimetres high. It appears to be the same feature described by earlier authorities (eg Witt 1883; O'Neil and Grinsell 1960) as a round barrow. Ordnance Survey field investigation in 1972 noted that "a semicircular rise..., presumably that recorded by Mrs O'Neil, is almost certainly not a barrow but upcast from an adjacent pit".
