Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
A wall of large sarsens and slight earthworks in the area of Beeches Copse are suggested to represent traces of medieval settlement. Medieval pottery has been recovered during tree-planting, while trial excavation produced a quantity of 12th-13th century pottery from a possible midden, although no structures were observed. Traces of ridge and furrow have also been observed in the area.
