A small stone circle on Standingstones Rigg. The circle comprises a flat-topped mound of earth and stone measuring 14 metres in diameter and 0.6 metres high. A ring of 15 stones encircles the top edge of the mound. The stones are between 0.4 and 1.2 metres high and six have fallen. There were originally 24 stones in the circle but some have been removed over the years. Two hollows in the centre of the mound represent partial excavation in antiquity. It is thought that this excavation uncovered a cist, constructed from stone slabs set into the mound. Four of these slabs are believed to have been decorated with cup and ring marks, but these have been removed and are no longer visible. Scheduled.
