Medieval moated site located immediately west of Park Villas. A system of fishponds once occupied the moated island. The moated island measures 100 metres by 65 metres and stands around 0.5 metres above the surrounding ground level. A fishpond is located on the island, parallel to the north eastern moat arm and separated from it by an earthen bank. Two shallow depressions at the south eastern end of the pond represent further elements of the fishpond system, which is shown on early OS maps. The moat measures up to 10 metres wide and is at least 2 metres deep on the north western and north eastern sides of the island. The north eastern arm once extended beyond the northern corner of the moat. The south western and south eastern moat arms are now visible only as linear depressions, but will survive as buried features.
