Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
The earthwork remains of a ditched bowl barrow located on the summit of Lype Hill. The barrow mound measures 21 metres in diameter and stands up to 2 metres high. The top of the mound is encircled by a ring of white quartz blocks. The surrounding ditch survives as a depression roughly 2 metres wide and 0.4 metres deep. A large quartz block stands next to the north side of the barrow and there is an Ordnance Survey trigonometry pillar set into the mound.
