A small Iron Age to Romano British enclosure was discovered in 1968 and excavated in 1971. A child's skeleton was found in the ditch and two Belgic and one Roman cremation within the enclosure. A pit was also found containing the remains of three horses. A bronze and iron brooch, a butt beaker and an iron knife were found with the burials. Iron Age pottery was found.
