A rectilinear ditched enclosure of probable Iron Age or Romano- British date was seen as a cropmark and mapped from air photographs. The enclosure lies on a ridge of higher ground, is aligned with it, and lies just below the western end of the highest ground. The enclosure has three straight-ish sides, two curved corners, and one approximately convex side. There is an entrance on the south, approached by a trackway from the south-west. There are three large maculae inside the enclosure and one outside its eastern corner, which are probable indications of settlement. Small scale excavation in 1989-90 confirmed a Roman date for a small area of the site. A large section of the expected circuit of the ditch is not visible on air photographs, but may possibly have been obliterated by more recent agricultural activity. Another, smaller, rectilinear enclosure is visible to the south-west.
