The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
Excavations uncovered the remains of Roman buildings, one containing a corn drying oven, a road surface and domestic debris indicating settlement from the 1st-4th centuries AD, possibly the site of a villa. Wall plaster, bracelets and brooches were also found. There was evidence for Late Iron Age occupation under the Roman levels. Scheduled.
