The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
Two sub-circular enclosures containing hut circles are visible on South Common, with two further hut circles to their immediate south. Faint traces of other circular features around the enclosures are visible on oblique aerial photographs, but these may be natural features or begetation. All the features lie within an area of 19th century enclosure and ridge and furrow. The smaller of the two enclosures measures 31.4 metres in diameter and 0.4 metres high. The hut circle within is visible as a platform 6.8 metres by 0.4 metres high. The second enclosure is significantly larger at 45.4m by 303.3m by 0.7m high, and shows signs of internal coursed walling. The hut circle within measures 10.5m by 0.4m high. The additional hut circles to the south measure 9.3m by 0.3 with an entrance on the south side, and 5.7m cut into the hillside.
