User-Submitted Notes

Norman Chapel built by William of Eu soon after the invasion.
Linked to the Collegiate church of St Mary in the Castle.
This Chapel was on private land and mostly standing. However the private owner died willing the land to the council for preservation and public use..However the council in their wisdom bulldozed the area for housing now Bexliegh Avenue, leaving only a portion of the chancel.

Paul Singer, 19 December 2013
