The site of a Roman Fort at Canon From, Stretton Grandison. It measures approximately 500 ft x 450ft covering nearly 5 acres, has been identified on aerial photographs. The two ditches along the whole of the east and west sides, each with a gate at its mid point, along a shortlength of the south side, and at the rounded angles can be seen. The west side has the additional protection of an outer pair of ditches which are staggered so as to determine an oblique approach to the gate. Several sherds of pottery and other artefacts have been found on the surface. No earthworks are visible on the ground.
