Notes

There was a glassworks and bottleworks `behind St Mary Overies Church' in 1742. It is probably one of those owned by the De Lanoy syndicate in 1696 and which passed to Joshua Jackson, a member of the well-known Southwark glass-making family. This glasshouse was taken over by Gerard Vanhorn and worked by him as a bottle-house. He was bankrupt in 1760.
