The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.
Earthwork remains of a barrow, possibly as large as 20m in diameter, which was shown by excavation to have contained several Iron Age primary cremations. It has been severely affected by adjacent quarrying operations. To the south of the barrow is a flat platform, with a section of walling 8m long and 90cms high. The fabric appears to be Roman and could be the remains of a signal station.
