Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.

A dovecote at Apethorpe Hall constructed circa 1740 and converted into a water tower during the early 20th century. It is circular in plan with an domed roof, constructed of limestone and ashlar with a Collyweston slate (i.e. Lincolnshire limestone) roof. The Dovecote is both a Listed Building and a Scheduled Monument.
