Notes

A 7th century Anglian burial with girdle-hangers and a small thread-box of bronze, plainly a woman's grave, and two Viking carved bone objects were the only post-Roman finds recovered from excavations in the Roman vicus and civitas at Aldborough. In his `Isurium', Ackroyd-Smith states that Saxon urns had been found at Aldborough in the mid 16th century.
