A possible medieval moat is visible as a cropmark on air photographs. The feature comprises a single broad rectilinear ditch which appears to be interrupted by causeways, three sides are visible. The cropmark surrounds the site of Castle Hill which is purported to be a medieval motte (SE 51 SW 17/ UID 56153) and may represent an associated moat.
