Nearest Postcode

The nearest postcode is an aid to location, and does not necessarily reflect the actual address of the monument. Most scheduled monuments are not occupied buildings and have no postal address or postcode of their own. In rural and coastal areas, the nearest geocodable postal address may be several miles away.

A possible Medieval enclosure, perhaps used as a sheep enclosure, encloses 2.5 acres. It was ploughed out by 1973, and is visible as an earthwork and a cropmark on air photographs. The enclosure is ditch defined, rectilinear (it is narrower at its north end) and measures 140m by 60m. A possible internal rectangular feature, measuring 40m by 10m, is situated half way up the enclosure, parallel to the north and south sides. The enclosure overlies part of the field system described in SU 06 NE 68.
