A system of Medieval and/or Post Medieval strip lynchets are situated on the southern face of a spur between Easton Hill and Kitchen Barrow Hill. Excavation in 1957-8 revealed traces of ditch, described as a "boundary dyke", of Roman date at the latest and preceding the formation of the lynchets. The lynchets survive as well-preserved earthworks and are also recorded on aerial photographs.
