The monument comprises the remains of a dun, a drystone fortification of later prehistoric date.
The dun is situated on the summit of a rocky knoll at around 40m OD. It survives as a low mound of rubble, some 17m in diameter. Facing stones visible on the N side suggest that it had an original wall thickness of about 3m.
The area to be scheduled encompasses the visible remains and an area around them in which traces of associated activity may be expected to survive. It is circular with a diameter of 60m as marked in red on the accompanying map.
