The monument comprises an unenclosed settlement of prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 15m OD. It comprises the remains of an unenclosed settlement spread over two fields. There are a large number of disc-shaped marks measuring between 5m and 15m in diameter. There are also various amorphous cropmarks, a large number of pits, and several rectilinear features. The discs represent the remains of timber roundhouses while the other cropmarks may represent associated structures.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related remains may be expected to be found. It is irregular in shape with maximum dimensions of 440m NNE-SSW by 290m transversely, bounded on the NW and S by field boundaries, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
