This monument consists of a hut circle and traces of a field system which are located on a S facing hill side. The hut circle measures 9 by 8m within a wall which consists of a rubble spread 2.5m wide and up to 0.7m high. The entrance of the house is on the SE. The field system consists of 12 or more clearance cairns which surround the house and a linear earthwork along the slope to the N. The area to be scheduled measures a maximum of 100m E-W by 70m N-S, to include the foundations of the round house and the field system, as shown in red on the attached map.

The monument is of national importance as a well preserved prehistoric settlement which contains information on the social life and farming practices of its prehistoric inhabitants. The hut circle will also incorporate important information on the structure and date of buildings of this type.
