The monument consists of a crannog, the remains of a dwelling on an artificial island, situated on the W side of Loch Ederline.
The crannog is visible as a stony mound which measures at least 6m in diameter, with bushes on top. A causeway on the side nearest the
shore is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1949.
The area to be scheduled is circular on plan with a diameter of 50m,
to include the crannog, its causeway and an area around in which associated remains may survive, as shown in red on the accompanying
map.
