A round cairn with contemporary concentric bank. The cairn measures 10m in diameter and up to 1m high with some kerb stones on the S. The enclosing stony bank is up to 2m wide and 0.5m high and has been destroyed on the east side. The area to be scheduled measures 40m in diameter and includes the structures described above and an area around them in which traces of activities associated with their use will survive, as detailed in red on the attached map.

The monument is of national importance because it can give us a greater understanding of prehistoric burial and ceremonial practice and increase our understanding of cairn construction. It is of further importance because pollen and features sealed beneath the cairn can enhance our understanding of the environment and land-use immediately prior to its construction.
