This monument consists of the round foundations of a prehistoric house on sloping moorland above Loch Calder.
The foundations of the round house measures 8.5m in diameter within a bank 2.5m wide and up to 0.9m high. There are traces of an entrance on the E side of the hut circle. There are no traces of contemporary cultivation in the vicinity of the hut circle.
The area to be scheduled measures 50m N-S by 50m E-W, to include the hut circle and an area around it in which traces of activities associated with the construction and use of the hut circle may survive, as shown in red on the attached map.

The monument is of national importance for its potential contribution to an understanding of prehistoric domestic settlement and social life. Traces of the internal organisation of the house will survive along with evidence for the economic organisation of the household who lived within the house.
