The monument consists of a small chambered cairn. It is grass covered and almost circular in shape measuring 18m in diameter and about 1m in height. In the W portion of the cairn is an oval depression (4.2m E-W by 4m N-S), exposing cairn material, which has probably been caused by stone robbing.
There are cultivation remains of later date immediately to the SW of the cairn. The area to be scheduled is circular and measures a maximum of 30m in diameter, to include the cairn and an area surrounding it which may contains evidence relating to its construction and use, as shown in red on the accompanying map.

The monument is of national importance as a good example of a Neolithic burial structure. It contains archaeological evidence within itself and its immediate environs which may increase our understanding of late prehistoric burial ritual and material culture.
