The monument comprises two souterrains of later prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 35m OD. It comprises two souterrains. The W souterrain is almost straight and measures some 15m NNE-SSW while, about 10m to the E, the second souterrain is sharply curved and measures about 12m long. There is a small dark cropmark within the arc of the second souterrain, apparently representing the remains of associated occupation.
Souterrains are semi-subterranean structures generally regarded as having been used for storage. They are usually found associated with traces of above-ground settlement.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is sub-circular with a maximum diameter of 60m, bounded on the NW by a road, which is itself excluded from scheduling, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of prehistoric settlement and economy. Its importance is increased by its proximity to other monuments of potentially contemporary date.
