The monument comprises the remains of a homestead of prehistoric date and other structures, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 20m OD. There are two circular concentric ditches, the inner measuring about 15m in diameter with the ditch about 1m wide, which probably represents the remains of a timber roundhouse. The outer ditch measures about 28m in diameter, with the ditch about 2m wide, which probably represents an enclosure protecting the house. To the S there is a second smaller ring-ditch, measuring about 8m in diameter, which may be expected to represent the remains of an associated structure. Around these structures, most clearly visible to the N and E, are lines of large pits, perhaps representing a system of prehistoric land division.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is square, 110m along each side, aligned approximately NE-SW, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
