The monument comprises the remains of an enclosure situated at the SW end of a spur 560m W of Glenkindie House. It is roughly circular on plan and measures 33m in diameter from NE to SW, by 32m transversely within a grass-grown bank up to 4m in thickness.
For the most part the bank has been eroded to little more than an outer-facing scarp up to 1.8m in height, but in places it has a faintly discernible inner scarp rising no more than 0.2m above the level of the interior. On the E, the bank is overlain by the bank of an oval plantation which otherwise lies outwith the enclosure.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may survive as yet undiscovered. It is circular measuring 77m in diameter, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.

The monument is of national importance as the probable remains of a settlement of later prehistoric date. This site is the only recorded example in this locality and to date there has been no detailed analysis of its structural form or situation in north east Scotland. This monument therefore offers the potential to contribute to an understanding of prehistoric settlement and economy of the later prehistoric period.
