The monument comprises a kerb-cairn of prehistoric date.
The monument lies in an area of rough grassland at around 10m OD. It comprises a sub-circular cairn measuring about 14m by 11m and some 0.5m in height. The cairn contains a central cist which has been disturbed, and several of the kerb-stones around the cairn are visible.
Cairns of this type are funerary monuments dating to the Bronze Age, and may be expected to contain material relating to their mode of construction and use. Although partly disturbed, this cairn may also conceal further burials peripheral to the central cist.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular with a diameter of 30m, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
