The monument comprises a ring-ditch of prehistoric date, visible as a cropmark on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland, at a height of around 50m OD. It comprises a circular ditch measuring approximately 11m in diameter, and probably represents the remains of a ploughed-down burial mound dating to the Bronze Age.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is circular on plan, measuring 40m in diameter, as marked in red upon the accompanying map.

The monument is of national importance because of its potential to contribute to our understanding of burial practices in the prehistoric period. Its importance is further enhanced by its close proximity to other monuments of potentially contemporary date.
