The monument comprises a round barrow of prehistoric date, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable farmland at around 20m OD. There is a circular ditch, measuring about 12m in overall diameter, with the ditch about 2m wide. The barrow is a burial monument of a type characteristic of the Bronze Age, and it may be expected to contain evidence of burials.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to be found. It is a truncated circle with a maximum diameter of 40m, bounded on the E by a fence, which is itself excluded from scheduling, as marked in red on the accompanying map extract.
