The monument comprises a square barrow of prehistoric date and associated remains, visible as cropmarks on oblique aerial photographs.
The monument lies in arable land at around 115m OD. It comprises a square barrow, measuring about 6m by 6m, with a central pit. The barrow is defined by a single ditch, which is about 1m wide. Approximately 15m to the NE of the barrow, there is a semi-circular feature which could represent associated pits.
Monuments of this type are ploughed out burial mounds. Square barrows are usually thought to date to the first half of the first millennium AD.
The area proposed for scheduling comprises the remains described and an area around them within which related material may be expected to survive. It is circular, with a diameter of 45m, as marked in red on the accompanying map.
