The monument comprises the remains of a prehistoric burial cairn, visible as an upstanding mound.
The cairn is situated in a small clearing within a forestry plantation, 300m W of Cordorcan Burn. It measures about 23m in diameter and stands up to 3m in height. The summit of the cairn has been partly excavated in antiquity, leaving a large irregular hollow about 1m in depth. There are no exposed features visible in this depression. A large arc on the SE side of the cairn has been robbed, leaving a terrace that measures up to 6m in breadth and stands about 1.5m in height.
The area to be scheduled includes the cairn and an area around it within which associated remains may be expected to survive. It is circular on plan, with a maximum diameter of 33m, as shown in red on the attached map.
