This monument consists of the well preserved remains of a prehistoric settlement which survives as a turf-covered mound of stones, 32m NW-
SE by 30m NE-SW and 1.5m high. This mound contains the remains of 3 structures. Two structures are aisled rectangular houses - these have evidence for displaced pillar stones and lintel slabs and in one case
a number of roofing slabs remain in situ. Three upright slabs forming part of a third structure are visible at the centre of the mound. On
the S of the site are traces of a boulder-faced wall. This probably
once surrounded the settlement, but the margins of the mound have
been disturbed by ploughing and robbing. The area to be scheduled measures a maximum of 70m WSW-ENE by 65m N-S, to include the mound
with houses and an area around in which traces of activities
associated with the construction and occupation of the settlement
will survive, as shown in red on the attached map.
