The monument is a broch consisting of a mound 21m in diameter and
about 3m high. There is a depression in the summit of the mound which
is about 9m wide. There are traces of a small excavation on the W of
the mound which has revealed the curtain wal of the broch. On the NE,
N and W sides are traces of an encircling wall and this is about 4m
out from the base of the broch mound. The area to be scheduled
measures 55m E-W by 65m N-S, to include the broch, outer wall and an area around in which traces of activities associated with the construction and use of the broch will survive, as shown in red on
the attached map.
